Mechanism of Action

Serum-derived bovine immunoglobulins (SBI) help reduce harmful particles, dampen immune activation, enhance gut barrier function, and promote improved Quality of Life (QoL) scores. SBI exhibits a high binding affinity for various microbial endo and exotoxins. By neutralizing substances such as lipopolysaccharide (LPS) endotoxins, SBI may help mitigate an immune system response and any subsequent inflammation.**

The Fragment Antigen-Binding (Fab) region of IgG immunoglobulin has specific antigen-binding sections to recognize the antigen. 

The crystallizable fragment (Fc), another part of the immunoglobulin molecule, interacts with other immune system elements (i.e., phagocytes, complement pathway components) to promote antigen removal.

• The SBI-antigen complex prevents direct interaction between antigens and immune cells.

• Steric Exclusion occurs after antigen-immunoglobulin binding. The SBI-antigen complex is too large to translocate across a damaged epithelial barrier.
